Hence, many developing countries are also developing the SEZs with the expectation that they will provide the engines of growth for their economies to achieve...
Eating Bugs Turns Into Instant YouTube Video Business
A few years ago I cashed in and moved to Thailand from the USA. One of the only things I had of any worth at all was a Sony CyberShot camera that doubled as my video camera. This camera shot 640x480 video at 30 frames per second and was quite good at it. I could have bought a separate video camera if I wanted, but I wanted something compact and able to shoot both great photos and decent videos. I began shooting videos about things I was doing in Thailand. Then, one wacky day I decided that it would be great fun to shoot some video of me eating some insects, worms and things that I found at an outdoor Thailand market. I created the "Gross Grub Series Videos" at YouTube. The videos were of horrible...

Buying camping gadgets cheaply
There's been an explosion in the number of different camping gadgets available here in the UK. This reflects technological developments and our desire to spend more time enjoying camping trips. If you want to buy at discount prices then it makes sense to buy online. You'll find that there are plenty of internet specialists to choose from and that pricing is often competitive. The fact that there are so many rival companies competing undoubtedly helps to keep prices low. But there are clearly advantages for companies trading online. They will tend to have lower overheads. That's partly because they won't be having to maintain expensive business premises and it's also because they'll require far fewer...

Objectivity - What is it and Why is That Important?
Let's start with the definition... The Cambridge On-Line Dictionary defines objective as an adjective and is "based on real facts and not influenced by personal beliefs or feelings"then it says "NOTE: The opposite is subjective." When I was a newly graduated college student, I am sad to say, I did not know what objective was... I remember looking up the definition and still not understanding what it meant or how to use it properly. I also could not tell you the difference between "subjective" and "objective". I had this idea they should be opposite but I could not tell you why. I want to take a moment to explain two things; 1. Why I didn't know the difference between subjectivity and objectivity and...

Thai Visas: What Does "Employment Prohibited" Mean?
Thailand Immigration can be a confusing maze of seeming incongruous rules, regulations, and instructions. The layperson often first comes into contact with the Thai Immigration system during the visa application process. Assuming the visa is approved, the applicant will receive a visa stamp in their passport. Often there are many stamps and the different notations can cause confusion. For example, some visas to Thailand are stamped with a notation which states: "Employment Prohibited." Dismay is had because the visa holder believes this means that they cannot receive employment authorization at any time. In reality, this simply means that employment is not authorized based solely upon this travel...
A Visit to Koh Tao With an Interview in Mind
Koh Tao, or Turtle Island, is not a big island; indeed it only covers 21 square kilometers. It is situated in the Gulf of Thailand off the western seaboard coastline, and it only takes about one and half hours to get there by high speed catamaran from Chumpon. The majority of turtles that the island was famous for have moved away, and now it is known as one of the major dive sites in Thailand. There is only one major road on the island, straddling the eastern side of the island, connecting the northern communities with those in the south. Other than that, you will need to take care when traveling around as most of the other roads are dirt tracks. I find that the best way to get there from Bangkok is...

So, whenever your baby cries, you would have to carefully check what exact meaning of his or her cry and rush to fulfill his or her requirement accordingly. (Babies cry and parents respond.) Udon Thani - The Gateway City Full of Fire
Udon Thani, also known as simply Udon, is a province in the northeast of Thailand, close to the Laotian border and is the gateway to Laos via the Friendship Bridge at Nong Khai. It's capital city is also named Udon Thani. Most Thais refer to it as Udon. It was relative unknown to foreigners until the Vietnam war, at which time the USA set up a military base. That base has since been turned over to Thailand, which was part of the deal when the USA was granted permission to set up the base. Udon Thani itself is better known as a gateway city rather than a major tourist destination. Many tourists pass through on their way to somewhere else, such as Laos and Nong Khai during the time of the Naga...
Importance of Travel Books
With the world speeding down the information superhighway, the time for books, it seems, is over. With every bit of information that you can possibly ask for available on the internet, non-fiction books have been worst hit. For example, when you are planning a trip abroad, you now rely on whatever information the web has to offer. It's no more like the old times when you would try to get your hands on a travel book or two, in order to know more about your destination. So, does this mean that travel books will die a slow death? Certainly not, because if you consider the importance of books, you'll understand that they are here to stay. What do Travel-Books Tell You? In a systematic manner, travel...
Chinese New Year in Bangkok
It has been a few years since I have been to Bangkok’s Chinatown, and a couple more since I visited the area during Chinese New Year. The reason is that area, which is around the Yaowaraj and Charon Krung Roads, is both not easy to get to, and is also difficult to navigate around. Having said that, if you have not been to the Chinese New Year festival in Bangkok before, then try to get there at least once. Every year there are Chinese and international music shows, traditional dancing and many cultural shows. On getting there, many of you may be tempted to go by car, taxi, or tuk-tuk. My advice is don’t as many of the rods will be closed and the traffic around the area will be a...

Learning Thai Language - Why You Should Learn to Read and Write it From the Start
Learning a tonal language is not easy, especially if you were brought up speaking a European language. Western languages have few tones which consist of simple things like raising your tone at the end of a question sentence. But you will normally be understood by a Western language speaker whatever tone you use. The Thai Language is as hard as any, and has five basic tones. These tones are high, low, middle, rising, and falling. A single word can have five different meanings which depend upon the tone used with it. Thai Language also has three classes of consonant; high, middle, and low. Each class has either three or five tones. And there are 44 consonants. There are 32 Thai vowels, some of which...

Bangkok Snake Farm Review
The Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute and Snake Farm is on the Rama IV road, not far from the Sala Daeng BTS Skytrain Station in Bangkok. It is quite easy to reach by Skytrain or taxi. This trip to the Snake Farm was my third, and the show has got less enjoyable each time I have gone. The first issue are the prices which increased in January, 2010. Foreigners pay THB 200 for adults, while Thais pay only 40 THB for adults each. It seems extraordinary to me to have to pay five times a local's price. It is a massive difference, but other people might have different views on this subject. Double pricing is alive and well in Thailand elsewhere too. Later in the same day we went to a temple called Wat...
Jaipur Travel - Sights to See in Jaipur
Jaipur is one of the most fascinating cities in the world. One of the few planned cities in India, it is also called the 'Pink City' due to the pink color of the buildings in the inner city. It was built in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and was the capital of the Rajput kingdom. It is a beautiful city teeming with history and culture, and a must visit destination if you are visiting India. One of the most important landmarks of the city is the Amer fort. Located a few miles from the city center, this fort occupies a strategic location just outside the city gates. It is situated on a hill top and offers a commanding view of the countryside. Besides a fort, it is also a beautiful palace with...
Hua Hin, Thailand - A secret treasure.
A real treasure in in Thailand close to Bangkok Wanting to go to a nice beach that is close to Bangkok, well a bit over 2 hours drive, we finally get to Hua Hin. One thing I notice about Hua Hin is how clean the roads were, compared to Bangkok it was spotless. Also on the main road I noticed there wasn’t any mobile food stalls (which are all over Bangkok) and it made the streets look a lot better I have to say. The air is also much cleaner and there isn’t much traffic at all. My wife and I stayed 2 nights at a resort right on the beach.
